Admittedly the term 'medium' was pretty vague, I was thinking in terms of bigger than a Votoms but smaller than a Gundam when I used it but as you say it depends very much on which anime you choose as a point of reference.

I deliberately chose to go for an over ornate rather than a purely functional look and as well as
Aura Battler Dunbine there is a healthy dose of
Five Star Stories among the influences that shaped this design and if you're familiar with Nagano's mecha you will appreciate that my shoulder armour is comparatively quite restrained.
As for animation I'm afraid that I animate like a fish tap dances so it is unlikely.
