Bar, you know it's funny you came up with 270m for the Prometheus. I used the doors that were shown in the episode "Prometheus" and "Prometheus Unbound" as my measure point, since we know how wide they were, IE, the walkway connecting to the doors was close to the camera, AND ironically enough, the light fixtures that you can see through the windows of the Prometheus in the namesake episode. Those things only come so large, 3 feet by 6 feet is the biggest they get. And since the windows you can see them through are smaller, we have an approximate size of the windows. And you can go from there. And I came up with 288 meters long, actually, 287.8 meters to be exact.
You know, the more I think about what Bruce W. said to ZakeD in that e-mail, the more I think it's not as straight forward as it appears to be. First he says he's not at liberty to say what the dimensions are, then goes on to say that it is slightly more than 700 meters long? Isn't that kinda taking the liberty that he supposedly doesn't have? I smell something fishy there. Can you say Red Herring? I was going to say something about Paris Hilton being around because of the smell, but thought it too impolite.
