Why would you go with tesselated? If I did a quad dome, I could add a frame support for the dome alot easier because of the straight lines. With the Tess dome, adding the frame work is going to be a lot harder, if I even add it at all. Tho the fram structure would help with the scale issue . .

I was thinking about this looking at the Earth-Mars transporter. The fuel cells on that are geodesic but have repeating greebles on them. I was wondering how to do that quickly, since aligning each piece of additional frame work to every single edge of the sphere would be crazy...
