Hi Dallidas, this is an image of a quad dome . . . .
The only reason I could think of for using this particular type of dome is to add the detail needed for perspective, by way of framework to support the dome. Because the quads are simple in structure it would be easy to add framing . . in short order.

Cool idea but I think it would take me forever to build the framework in tube shape then add the glass in. My version of LW is limited to the amount of cool plug-ins everyone else has so design like that would take a long long time, unless you know of a shortcut.

I think it boils down to the framework if I wanted to add it.
The Quad dome would be really easy but the Tesselated version as Armondikov put it would be crazy to plot each edge.
@ The B5 Fan . . . the idea of the Hex dome is sick . . .
