Use the same kind of Geodesic Icosa whatever (that's what it's called in max anyway) that you used for the current dome, but use an odd number of segments, or all the hexagons and pentagons won't match up to a football pattern, I'll attach an image...

Edit: Ok, here we go. This was made using a icosa-geodesic sphere, with 3 segments. The more segments (odd numbers!) the more hexagons between the pentagons
