Oops looks like I falsely assumed Max and LW use the same way of creating a geodesic sphere...seems like you'd need to use even numbers, because the exact same thing happens in max if you use even numbers...why is everything vice versa?
I think the tesselated dome (the one made of triangles, right?) would be better from an engineering point though as it has no special weak points or parts that are under heavy strain all the time.
