Been working on this in the past month or so, it's a graphic novel more than a traditional comic I'd guess?
-Based on Spelljammer, a
fantasy space setting for Dungeons and Dragons that came out in 1991, I'm a huge fan of it, so I've rebuilt many of the ships in Rhino.
-The renders are done in Vue6, then converted to a cartoon look using India Ink plugin from Flaming Pear, therer are other ways to "cartoon" a render, but this is my fave so far.
-The people are Poser, so if this makes me "
low-brow Poser pond scum", too bad
. Actual Spelljammer ships, ship weapons and some bits n' bobs made by me, people/their gear are nearly all from DAZ3D and many of their brokered artists.
I've got two sections to this work on my site: the cartoons (and lot of original renders), plus a "character" section, detailing many of the characters, with D&D stats as well, which helps explain lot of the background. Not going to post those, as they are huge and mostly text, but the first one can be found here, and links on the pages to the rest:
