| I think Starfleet needs to fire their carpet designers.
The stellar cartography style section is a really cool idea and it certainly seems more useful and more versatile for directing orders in battle than an admiral staring at a viewscreen or looking over the shoulders of the crew to see their consoles. But, it seems like something that could be incorporated into the main bridge, rather than having a separate section.
It seems like they have a way to walk there too. If a situation suddenly heated up and they decided to move to the holographic control centre, it looks as though they'd have to walk off the main bridge, through the turbolifts and through that corridor to get to the holographic area. In meantime, they wouldn't be controlling what was going on. |
