My first Nebula, sort of...

Whilst playing about with lens glows and stuff, I came up with this nebula, and I'm quite proud of it...

All I have to do next is try to put a starship in a nebula with some shadow streaks, I'm sure I'll work it out someday...

I was wondering whether this should be a 3D image or a 2D, but as it ended up as 2D I put it here...

I just did it in Max8, using Video Post I made 3 layers of lens glows with electric inferno enabled on 2 layers and gaseous on the first, and then set a transparent sphere as the source of the glows and rendered the sequence and this was the result...

The stars were done with my usual technique of making a huuuuuge self-illuminating sphere and tiling a stars texture on it...

THis image is actually Version 2, as the first one looked a bit thin....

You can add stars too in videopost (in the dropdown list of effects you want to add, last one is called starfield)

To boldly go where no-one has gone b4, well let's turn left this time...

I've tried that (when I first found out about VP), but the stars looks too fake to me...
