You keep making the soviet stuff cooler looking and the MiG-223 looks more advanced than anything else. You need to make a US fighter with an uninterrupted bubble canopy because all the US fighters, as well as everyone else's look like they're from the 70's.

I'm amused that you made the characteristics of the US and Russian fighters reversed. The Russians are obsessed with dogfighting ability and the US has always tried to get away from it.

Lol, I love your posts M.D., you don't pull any punches and I'm down with that. As far as the dogfighting versus standoff ideology, yes you are absolutely right. I'm figuring everything is cyclical and in this universe the technology is favoring the dogfighter rather than the missile platform. This is just an arbitrary decision on my part.

And all I can say about advanced looking fighters other than soviet ones, well, wait and see!

Wow... this is some totally awesome stuff... I love the new look of these pages, and the Banshee page is my favorite. I love how you included a set of drawings depicting how it fights... great stuff, and keep it coming!

Yeah, I usually can't help it, it's a bad habit. It's still better than saying, "this sucks", how can you learn anything from a comment like that but the same is true of "this rocks". I've been trying to work on my criticism of aspects that I do like so people are more receptive to my criticism of parts I don't like.

Great stuff, keep it up, there's no reason philosophies like that shouldn't change.

I must say these are really great. You are inspiring me to get to work on the Space Fighters for Project Cosmos. Great work, bbzwbbzw.

Redid this old chestnut. The nice thing about putting these sheets together is the more I do, the easier they get because I can reuse a graph here and there.

Very nice. Again, I really like those sheet layouts. Your FT-19 has a distinct F-104 Starfighter sort of look to it in the dorsal view. While the Sabre holds a certain appeal, the Starfighter ("Lawn Dart" heheheh!) has always been my favorite mid-century jet fighter and this one captures it perfectly... if it would have been crossbred with an F-8 Crusader!

Thanks Aethernaut, and you are exactly right- it's entirely a cross between the F-8 and the F-104. I wanted it to look slightly outdated compared to more modern designs in the timeline. In my mind, 'more modern' equates to designs that look less like traditional aircraft and more like the design below;

This one is my favorite thus far. It's inspired from my memory of the fighters of a boardgame called renegade legion interceptor. Not based on any one in particular.

These are great, I think I'm going to have to try my hand at a project like this soon.

It's just my own humble opinion, but I still like the Shrike, MiG-227 "Frank", and Haifisch the best, I think precisely because of their 'outdated' designs. They have a really nice sort of 'alternate history' vibe to them, they remind me a bit of the "Ministry of Space" comic series, about Britian going into space after WWII. IO also like the way those three in particular seem to marry 1980s aircraft design aesthetic to sort of sleak retro-60's kind of rocket shape.

That said I'm personally not so much a fan of the Corsair or Banshee designs. I really enjoyed the film "Enemy Mine," but the fighter design aesthetics were one of the things about it that always made me kind of go "huh? Why would anyone build something that looks like that?" I'd rather see some design evolutions leading to even sleeker, faster looking versions of your outdated fighters. But that's just personal opinion, and as far as execution goes I can't see anything to complain about with any of them. You're definately giving me to bug to try this.
