| Delta Flyer schematic I just made this schematic of the Delta Flyer for my LCARS system, and I'm looking for any corrections it may need. In particular, I'm not sure about what I have labeled as the computer core. I made the pattern buffer in that style on the shaky assumption that that thing seen on the Flyer in VOY is the computer core. |

| Thanks. I've changed most of my MSD-style schematics to this color scheme, but I've only done three shuttles, and I want to see if I'm on the right track about the computer cores and pattern buffers. With the big ships, it's easy; I just make those multideck computer cores like the ones in the canon MSDs. I was told Sci-Fi Meshes was the place to go to get answers to questions like that. So here I am. And that thing on the Flyer I'm guessing is the computer core wouldn't be the warp core, because the same prop was part of the set of the Pathfinder laboratory. The Delta Flyer's escape pods are like flying coffins and unique to the Flyer. A person lies prone inside. The upper one on each side of the Flyer is upside down, since access is from the ventral hatch of the pod, and they are so close together when docked. You can see one (exterior and interior) in VOY: Good Spepherd. |

| After the Delta Flyer was destroyed by the Borg, the Delta Flyer II was built. One of the changes was to replace the escape pods with what Harry Kim called "impluse trusters," officially called "atmospheric speedbrakes," which you can see in action in VOY: Drive., where all four escape-pod launch doors swing open to expose the new engines. Here are a couple of examples of the same color scheme with large ships (I put a turboshaft in the Steamrunner running through one nacelle and down one pylon for access between the primary and secondary hulls, since artificial gravity can be directionalized as needed within the turbolift system, and those pylons are thick enough): ![]() |

| Here's a screencap of that lit-up pole next to the aft station of the Flyer I was asking about. I'm still trying to find out what it's supposed to be. If it's not the computer core, then I should draw one in below the floor and label it. And that will influence my other shuttle schematics, as well. And the lower screencap shows the Delta Flyer II, built shortly after the original was destroyed. It has what Harry Kim called impulse thrusters where the escape pods had been on the original Flyer. But this shows the doors opening up just as they had in the case of launching escape pods. ![]() |

| SFM Oracle | Well, you commonly see tese blue thingy when it's about data-stuff. So I guess it's either a sort of proto-computer core or another comupting device of any specification. I'm not sure, but I remember Data to be working on such a thing once and having the isolinear chip at his side. Maybe this old-tech got still used if there was no neccessity for gel-packs... |

| Okay, here's an identical piece of equipment in a room at Starfleet headquarters. And Voyager's processor, shown for just a couple of frames in VOY: Concerning Flight, was of somewhat similar design. ![]() And below is a scene from inside the main computer core of the Enterprise-D. |

| SFM Oracle | Yeah, you have to remember, these are actually different ages. Starfleet developed bioneural gel-packs in the mean time, so I could find it logical that the previous technology got adapted to lesser or smaller work. Like said, running a shuttle/runabout instead of a whole ship.... I do personally believe it's some sort of data-processing stuff. Surely no biiiiiiiiiiiiiig computer core, just a smaller cousin. |
