Thanks! For some strange reason it's one of my favourites as well.

A propos of nothing - I no longer think this will be a complete technical manual, mostly because I've been working on this for about four years now, and look where I am today ... my current goal is to finally finalise the exterior schematics, all six views, perferably in colour. Deck plans would be nice as well, but at the rate I'm going, the folks at Strategic Design will finish theirs first, despite the long list of ships they want to do before they get to the Constellation.

Keep up the great work. I would rather see yours done first. Yours is the most accurate version that I have ever seen.

Keep those updates coming.

Necropost!

Here's something I've been working on recently. Using the approach that worked very well with the cargo container (see earlier in this thread), I think I've finally come up with a bridge layout I can be satisfied with. There is a certain degree of guesstimation involved, but it's based on solid data, and it seems to work.

I need to figure a few things out, but I should be making swift progress. Once I'm finished, I can post an explanation of how I arrived at certain measurements and angles, for those who are interested.

Nice work.

Have you worked out what the main shuttlebay interior should look like, that would come in very handy to me.

Many of your schematics have been instrumental in my current model.

By "main" shuttlebay you mean the one in the bow, I take it? I've only done a few rough sketches, but if you want, I can draw up something with sufficient detail for you.

The same goes for the protrusions on the underside. There, I've actually given quite a bit of thought to what the interior could look like (the ship's arboretum).

I'm glad that my work is good enough to help people with their own projects. Thanks!

That floorplan is looking tight so far, MichaelS. Can't wait to see some control panels in there.

Here's what I've been working on recently. There is a LOT of guesswork involved, let me warn you, but I think I managed it rather well. Unless I got the size of the door (my starting point - every other measurement is based on it) spectacularly wrong, this is about as close as I can get to the real thing.

I started out with a screencap and twisted that in Photoshop so that it looked like it wasn't taken at an angle. From there I progessed, arriving at these measurements. For your convenience, the railing column is depicted at twice the size.

The one major problem I've encountered is that the length of that section of the wall is longer than my floorplan above allows, so one of them is wrong. I'm thinking it's the floorplan, since evidence involving the ceiling is pointing in the same direction.

Aethernaut, thanks for the praise. At this stage, the plan is still somewhat fluid. However, once I'm done with it, I'm thinking of doing an isometric view, which will be quite different from the Fact Files one ...
