Dadoes, if you do do this in 3d, what views do you need?

[edit] Wesley, we must have been posting at the same time... missed it. Thanks.

Sorry about the delayed response (been a bit busy). All the views you can do is the ideal answer, but being realistic side/front/top are the minimum but bottom and back would help too. As you'll see from my WIPs I'm not a very fast worker (most of the work is done in my lunch hour at work) so it may be sometime before I finish it. Also the resolution should be as high as possible, or seperate images for the main shape and for the details (i.e like the cockpit/gunners pod).

Great work, this is looking amazing. Keep up the good work.

Feel the fear and do it anyway

Thanks for the positive comments, all. Any suggestions?

Dadoes, OK, I'm still working on the top... already started on the front... How much detail do you want (Do you need me to put on textures... or does that matter?)

Don't worry if it takes a while to finish (like I said I'm still working on the top...)

[edit] now that I'm pretty sure where this thing's going, should I be working on all the views for each section. IE, finish 4 views of the cockpit/gunner's pod...before moving on to the next section, etc...?

(And as always... I may not be comprehending what you're trying to communicate, or... I MAY JUST BE WRONG.)-:shiner:

I want to be able to count the rivets! Kidding.

Really looking great Honman1! I can't wait to see more.

Ideally a untextured one to start off would be good, I wouldn't be distracted by the textures when modeling then, but textured would be fine. As far as details are concerned the more detail you put into the drawings the more I can model, so the more the merrier.

I could try to model each section as you finish the drawings, but at the moment I'm trying to get the Adamant textured so i can call her finished. So I won't start until thats done, else I'll never get her finished

Update

^Me too.

Here's the top view. Not sure if the drop shadow worked, but... I need to make some changes to the reactor (Top view's a little... Err, not quite right. )

Threw in a side view of the gunship in combat braking configuration. Didn't take the time to adjust the shadows on the neck...

Thanks,

I'm still pondering that suggestion you made... That would be a radical ship if I could pull it off. It was kinda impossible with the old propulsion system, but with the new one...hmm... maybe I'll try that next.
