Lightbulb USS Ranier (Federation Ranier class Battlecruiser) Registry number NX-?????

I need help with this ship. I have ideas, but they never seem to be able to come out right when I attempt a 3d model of them, or a paper drawing... although I know my problem with the paper is that I'm using a tiny sketchbook, with crappy pencils... but thats beside the point. As my intro thread says, Star Trek is a recent hobby of mine, so if I could get one of you uber-STgeeks to help, that would be great

So here is a few images... like I said, I cant seem to convey my ideas all that great in normal mediums, so these are made of images I found on the internet, edited together, so design isn't final, this is just a rough draft The one with color is a beta test I did in MS Paint to see what some colored panels might do for the design.

From top and side I like the views... .But that front one just gets to me. Its oversized.
Maybe if you went with a V shape for the lower half of the Secondary hull... Bring in the curves...

Not a bad start. I drew my own class of starship, the Neptune-class, and the drawing was awful. I agree with Countdown5, the front view isn't very good, its too round and large, perhaps a more oval shape would be better. How about the
registry NX-76751?

Just to explain that. From the first two views you have this sleek, streamlined ship. Something that looks like its got some speed on it. Then you get to the front view and it becomes this obese lug.

Now unless you intended this to be some kinda narrow cargo hauler...

ok, thanks guys! I dont like the front view either, but I dont have access to my own computer for a couple das, so its unlikely it will be changed very soon... it could be that the section I used for the body front view was a ful color picture that i black and whited, when all the rest were line art? i'll see if I can find a front view of the ship i used as a schematic.

as for the era, this is about 50 yrs post TNG, but I prefer the TNG/TOS style, so I didn't make it as... weird, as I could have.

As for the wide-ivity of the body, heres a few pics, and you tell me which one looks best:

which one? or if you dont like any of those ideas...

I would narrow down the secondary hull's width a bit, and maybe widen the saucer out from the front view. You have a strong start here I will deffinetly keep an eye on this.
