Su-58 Variable Fighter

Concept art for alternative (or, rather parrallel) fan made storyline for "Robotech" uneverse. Basicly, the design is a mix of SV-51 from "Macross Zero" and FRX-00, from Yukikaze. Lineart of VF-6 Alpha fighter used for scaling purpose only.

Line drawing just for scaling purpose. It's an official design from the series.

Cockpit is a transparent capsule, completely separate from main hull, between the darker hull structures.

Ah robobleck, lets throw another series in there as well. You do realize that all of the a/c from Yukikaze huge right? They are also quite poor aerodynamic designs when you really get down to it...

Thats, why only design is taken. In Yukikaze - it was two-seater. However FRX-00, is not that huge. (compared to supersylph, etc.). Aerodynamics... Well, take a look at VF-6 (lineart) and answer - which one is more aerodynamic?

Someone from the Sentou Yousei Yukikaze staff said somewhere that the fighter plane designs in the series were technically quite unsound, actually, which is a shame since they are beautiful. But then one has to suspect them when they show too many fins, too many aerodynamically troublespots for a Mach 3-top fighter and so.

Nice, but aboyt the name of Russia aircraft... fighters (Mig-29, Su-27) and some attack fighters (Su-25) have odd numbers, while bombers (Su-22, Tu-16, Tu-22 and others) and another attack aircrafts (Il-2, Il-10) have even numbers. But the design is perfect
