Thanks VA, damn straight that's alright with me, just be sure to post pics of it. I fudged fixing the alignment issues of the rear fuselage where it was too close together on the back, the front of the main body might be too far apart now slightly. Oh, I almost forgot, I didn't save that first side view with the Sukhoi nozzles so I had to rebuild it and I changed up some things slightly, I'm posting it now.

I'm happy with the new nozzles, I think they go well with the plane. In the fictional background I'm writing, NG and Sukhoi had a partnership in the mid-90's that resulted in some Flanker-esque design details in this plane. Speaking of which, I have a couple new top views showing the wings swept, one has only one swept to show both. The swept oneshows new access panels I'm working on for the back of the plane to simplify maintenance access. I also added in a new rectangular fuel vent on the beavertail, replacing the former pipe that was there. Oh, and I added an aft-mounted IRST as well in the location of the former ECM device that was there.

Well, since it's May 25th, I decided to take a little break from the Tomcat and did some work on the XJ X-Wing. I mostly added more paneling, some more of the components from the area behind the astromech, and some general clean up since I upped the size. I do intend to work on it some more on this long weekend, maybe with some other SW stuff if I get inspired.

On a more annoying note, Sci-Fi ran a Dark Angel marathon and since I took off today I watched it for a good 7 hours straight. I had intended to watch the original trilogy of Star Wars, but the best laid plans of mice and men, you know? So I didn't start the first movie until 2100. I'll hopefully get through both trilogies this weekend. Blasted Dark Angel, lol. I love that show, especially the first season and especially the early episodes of it, which are what they showed.

Hah, still a good 38 minutes in the day, I'm happy I got some SW stuff out today, better late than never.

I updated the two-seat F-14F to the latest standard.

I added the conformal fuel tanks to the dorsal side of the plane. I also added them to the top view. I'm still working on the placement, the way it's mounted now is to keep them out of the airstream coming out of the vent from the intakes. The lines near the middle of the tanks are expansion segments for longer range missions, it has two installed right now.

I worked some on the USS Indiana this morning. It was mostly detailing, I added in portholes on the superstructure, searchlight platforms, AA gun platforms, and antennas to the two tower masts. I also started the second plane crane, jack staffs, turret details, wireless antenna, and doors.

I continued to work on the Indiana this afternoon. The biggest change is the addition of an antenna to the foretop and tweaking of the rear plane crane and staff. I just realized I forgot to add the other changes I did, including adding in some of the 1.1 inch Pom-Pom AA gun tubs. You can see one of them in the second picture which is the beginning of a minor refit, circa 1942, for the ship. Right now the biggest difference is the relocated antenna from the foretop and it's replacement with a large surface-search radar. It's going to have a lot more changes, I just wanted to show off the radar antenna.

I added the rigging to the Indiana. The second pic is the ship after an extensive refit she needed after running aground on an uncharted reef in '39 during a typhoon. During her 17 month refit in San Fransico she was giving an expanded superstructure, more AA weapons, and her directors were moved.

I started fiddling with coloring the F-14E today. I wanted to do something different so I started working on a JASDF paint. It's the basic grey scheme based on the F-4EJ Kai of 301 squadron. I still need to add all the little paint details like warning marks, add the squadron tail flash when I find a good picture of it (like a good quality model decal sheet), and cleaning out the jaggies on the dark colors. I'm doing this in GIMP, the text and rondel are on different layers and a seperate copy of the plane with the white areas made transparent is on top. I don't know how to do shading yet, so it hasn't been put in.

EDIT: Started fiddling with the tail.
