Oh, I definately agree with you there, perhaps a Jolly Rogers skull? I like the symbol I put on the JMSDF F-14E's tails myself.

But that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer! Someone who would paint a nice fuzzy bunny on their fighter is either a complete wuss, or the meanest fighter pilot this side of Butch O'Hare.

I worked on this this morning, it's a JASDF F-14FJ aggressor based on the two-toned blue scheme on the Eagle. I hadn't realized that you can put the top layer in multiply and get the background to see through without getting rid of the white. Thanks BJ! I'm experimenting more with layers with this, the blue camo is all on it's own layer, composed of the outline of the plane, and the lines between the colors (which I'm working on getting rid of as well as the jagged light parts on the lines). Oh, I also brought the rabbit over, there are much worse in the real JASDF, one F-4 squadron has Woody the Woodpecker on it's tail.

Aye. The Jolly Roger would do nicely.

But Calico Jack's flag, with the crossed swords instead of crossbones.

Aye, very true.

I made some variations of the camo scheme from a couple posts ago. They're pretty cleaned up. The new ones are in a green/tan and a black/grey scheme. I also started fiddling with another pattern. It's not cleaned up at all yet, so it's still pretty rough. It's in green/tan, black/grey, and green/grey.

Yes, it's alive! (I need to stop watching Young Frankenstein)

I'm still getting the hang of layers, but I have to say that it's making it a lot easier to paint. I have an idea of how to avoid the light colored pixels, I'll experiment with that tomorrow, as well as lay out some more camo patterns. Gotta put the reference JASDF pics I found on airliners.net to good use.

Oh, the inspiration for the scheme is this one.

they paint the agressor camo over the normal mod-eagle schemes, so yes, they painted around the markings
