The other half of the team shows up - 18 months later

This is very strange, as since the last posts, I've talked to Buck (first time in about 10 years, actually), and I keep sniffing around to see what's happened to the old 'birds'.

Bernard - as for the shape of the command table - college humor, but no apologies. If you go find the movie TheYes men, or check YouTube for a Second Life group called Second Front, you'll see I haven't changed much. As long as the work is good, you shoudl never apologize for a sense of humor.

Yes, around 90-93, Buck and I tossed around a lot of designs for a lot of ships, but for some odd reason I decided to sit down with Corel (6 at the time) and produce the two sets from our sketches. Took about 120 hours, and the original run was offset print at 1200 DPI.

Even though the clipart and little in-jokes in the callouts are sometimes a bit silly, they are directly influenced by Okuda and Sternbach, who regularly had in-jokes in their diagrams, especially ones about Yuri & Kei, the Dirty Pair. So in terms of being within the behind the scenes culture at Paramount, we were completely in line, and all of the designers we had contact with gave a "two thumbs up".

But it was some of the last work before i went almost 100% fine art, and sometimes I think it's more fun...

Yeah - I saw that someone had a mesh of the "A"? Oh, man I want to get my hands on that...

Hope a few of you are still around, sorry to be late.

I dunno about the rest but I'm still around. I even did a few more tweaks on the schematics, including the secondary hull. Can upload them sometime this weekend.

Hey there. I like the McPherson class. Is someone going to try to model it?

All I want is a tall ship and a star to steer her by...:)

Here's the latest version. I'm not 100% happy with the placement of some of the windows though, so some will prolly change a some point.

Patrick, Buck, I came up with an idea for Macpherson Class Modefication Project. This project is about testing Technologies brought back from U.S.S. Voyager assisted by Dr. Seven of Nine on testing Borg-inspired Technologies like Astrometrics Lab, Hypersubspace Communications/Sensors, Hybrid Unimatrix/Multi-Spacial Sheilding, a Transwarp Slipstream Drive(using properties of both Borg Transwarp and Quantum Slipstream), Transphasic Torpedoes, Dual-Mode Interphase Cloaking Device(Developed by Federation, Klingon, Romulan, and Aldean Scientist), Hybrid Quantum/Plasma Phaser Array, and other Technologies you can think of that I don't know. What do you think?

*sigh* He just doesn't get it, does he?

Legolas, I really like that diagonal stripe across the dish structure. It really gives it a TNG/Probert-designed feel.

I for one think that Bill Shatner was right: some Trekkies need to get a life, not to mention develop a sense of common-decency so as to avoid posting the same tired nonsense in other peoples' threads.

I also think it's about time the mods called your ass to the carpet for this incessant ritualistic spamming...

Legolas I've loved this design since I saw it some years ago (possibly on the Starship Schematics Database). We never saw enough TNG-esque vessels IMO, and this works well in addressing that particular deficiency of the Trek "universe".

Suicide bombers... what makes them tick?
