Macpherson Class USS Lagrange

Found these (well the originals) on the LCARS Blueprings page, and thought it was a somewhat cool ship, so I did some colored versions and touched up the MSD. I still wanna add some windows and little details, and have to finish up the front.back views, but lemme know what you think so far.

That's an interesting design, and really nice work cleaning it up.

Looks like it's intended to link up with a standard Galaxy Class secondary hull, though - just going by the absence of a Navigational Deflector and the clamps in the cutaway section on the underside.

Any chance you could show us what it might look like when it's joined?

Yeah, if you check out the Blueprings page, the Lagrange has a sheet with the secondary hull module on it, but they dont' show what it looks like connected. I didn't much like the way it looked, mind you, but I could prolly put something together showing the two together.

The ship does have a deflector though, there's one shown on the MSD, and I was gonna add one on the top/forward of the saucer, so it has two small ones. And change the buttom of the saucer, to hold a Captain's yacht like the Galaxy.

And yeah, I shoulda spotted the little deflector on the underside. I've never been a fan of the small ones - I think I'd feel really nervous if that was the only thing throwing gravel out of my way at warp

Hehe, that's why I was gonna add a second one, figure the one on the bottom is bigger and so it'll be the primary, and a little one on top ala Intrepid/Nova for a secodnary. If I knew how to do the aztec pattern at all, I wanted to model the thing after Galen's Galaxy refit, but so far not having much luck at it. Windows and such are tough enough as it is!

The webpage though, is here:

Legolas25 - who's the cute guy in your avatar?

Nice work, BTW, I like the design of both the ship overall and the bridge quite a bit.

Yes the design is nice and the Lagrange Can be considered the TNG Advanced Version of the Franz Joseph Poltemy Class Transport Tug thus the
Secondary hull can come in many variations depending on what mission the ship needs to take on.

Lagrange Designer

Hi All~

John at 'cygnus' shot me a heads-up that there was a little discussion about the Lagrange, more specifically the Macpherson which I designed oh-so-many years ago. Man, how time flies. Anyway, I'd thought I'd pop my head in and wave hello. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute something to this thread.

Thanks,

~Buck
