Jedi Starfighter

I finally got started on something I've wanted to tackle for a while, the Jedi Starfighter (Delta-7 Aethersprite) from AoTC. Except for a few color spots which I just noticed, the top view is just about done. Anyone notice any blatant errors?

It's surprising that there's not very many references for this thing on the internet. I'd say that 95% of the pictures I found were of the toys, and the few screenshots I found from the movie were small and low-quality.

Very nice, B.J.! My only suggestion would be to define the lighting a little better by having the lower half of the wedge slightly darker than the shading it's got now. Overall, it looks fantastic though.

Regarding references; when I was working on the KV class nacelle I wanted to give it a 'tween Phoenix and NX look. I had the same problem finding decent references for Cochrane's Phoenix. Toys and the same three screencaps everywhere.

Very nice work.

There's some references in the AOTC cross-sections book.

Thanks guys!

@Aethernaut: I was trying not to overdo it on the shading, but I guess I overcompensated! I'll definitely adjust that.

@Talos: I did look at the cross-section book, but it's not an actual photo or screencap, so I can't be sure of accuracy there. I am working on getting some better references, so that's why you haven't seen anything else on this yet.

All I have ever found was the instructions for the toy, all the other references tended to be someone else's take on the ship. I think I have them kicking around if you need 'em.

Call me picky but I'll take your version over the others any day. You've always shown that you do your homework and research very thoroughly, plus I just happen to be a fan of your style.

Nice job!

If you are looking for other ships to do, would you consider doing the Rapier from the Wing Commander movie. I know my version isn't 100% accurate, but it could be used as a reference. I tried to be as accurate as possible based on the screencaps I had to work with.

Thanks! I've got the toy instructions, and I based mine off that and some model kit instructions I found.

I'm still waiting on those better references I mentioned, but in the meantime, I did generate 4 out of the 5 versions they did for the toy (I'm missing Kit Fisto's green one):

This is one of my favorite small craft ships of Star Wars. Nice work on the Different patient schemes on the Jedi Starfighter. I like to see this fighter In turqouise striped color scheme just like Anakins starfighter. It would be cool to see the Starfighter in other striped color schemes as well. I also like to see the fighter in green and purple solid color schemes also. (Not saying you have to do it.) It would just be cool to see other colors on the starfighter.

Much better on the shadowing. You punched it up just enough to not make it obvious but also not make the drawing look as flat as it did before. Very nice.

Love the variety of paint jobs too!
