I like it. It's nice and well balanced.

No trees were harmed in the production of this message. However, several billion electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I think the new design kicks ass.

Though I agree on the "putting-my-face-on-my-site"-hesitation, it is well balanced. The font could be a little larger, though, but I like it.

Nice. Maybe a more stylized photo would be better, with studio lighting and a better pose (hm, that sounds harsh, but I don't mean it that way). And, but that's just my own personal preference, black&white/greyscale/monochrome photos look better, especially for stuff like this.

Born to be Wilde. And to be the slowest modeller in this galaxy.

I had similar thoughts - the photo is really cool, the only drawback is you're not sitting up straight. That, and the angle of the contents text, make it seem kinda... off. Not "less professional" as in "more personal," just "less professional." That's my impression, anyway. The overall design is great, and the colors are perfect.

BTW, the photo's not going to change any more for this version of the site. Too much trouble to alter it much more than I already have and this particular photo has a personal significance that a professional studio photo never would.

that actually does it. and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't suggest manipulating the photo - I completely understand the preference not to mess with something that has personal significance!
