Trek drawings from 1982

I found all my old drawings I did when I was 15 (back in 1982) in a box in the attic awhile ago and figured I would post them here.

I am making one of the drawings (Aries) into a 3d model right now in this thread http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/3...ool-style.html

I thought some of you might find it interesting how I was drawing ships at that time compared to people now in 2007

I was heavy into Star Fleet Battles the board game and Star Trek role playing game at the time. Keep in mind in 1982 the Wrath of Khan just came out, there was no TNG and the only Trek we got to watch on a regular basis was TOS. The best CGI was TRON and my computer had 128x64 screen resolution.

Anyways, here are the drawings. I may update them all and model a few of them.

Keep in mind most of the ships are of the same class (gunboat) so they all look similar in some ways. Don't laugh too hard...

^^funny I named it Archer back then...

Nice to see these Red Spar.Love the Gemini! I think the others are great as well. Nice to see something besides sausers here! For some reason everyone seems to forget the old Aruora from TOS. The feds DID have other designs out there right. Nice drawings.

fascinating!
it's amazing to see these since they're uncorrupted (so to speak) by TNG design elements.
cool stuff

Surprisingly consistent work for an era with not much to go on! Although I think you did your Zodiac sometime after STIII - the saucer and nacelle definitely have some Excelsior influence.

I'm amazed by how much the alien vessle looks like a Jaffa staff weapon.

Yeah I think you're right. IIRC I drew the Zodiac carrier about a year or so after the gunboats. Hard to remember after all those years. *grabs walker and puts in dentures....*
