Downloads: 4 Uploads: 0 | Star Trek: The Original Series - Season Four So this is my fist delve into the world of 2D artwork. Inspired by another thread, i've become pretty good at using software like Freehand MX, and i had an inspiring idea to create a series of screencaps if you will of what would be Trek 4th Season. So using a variation of the style used in Animated Trek, i hope to create a some good pictures using Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites as ref. Fist of all thought i have to get the look of the crew right...First up is Captain Kirk. ![]() This is the first character i've ever drawn in freehand so it may look a little off, Few changes from the Animated series are... -Darker Hair -Small Shirt Emblem -less muscular look for kirk |

| SFM Guru | It looks like TAS. I assume that the other thread you mentioned is the ENT season 5 one? |

| SFM Guru | So I assume you basing this off the way the original series animated show was drawn. It looks alot like the original series animated but I never really thought that the original series animated characters looked all that alike the original series live action show. Either way though great job I suck a drawing, I find that if anyone has any skill in that area I am impressed.... not saying that you only have little skill or anything. Just keep up the good work I am sure the longer you work at it the better and better you will get. |

Downloads: 4 Uploads: 0 | Yeah i wanted to base it around the look of the Animated Show, but not 100% cos i wanted to put my own spin on it but enough to give you that ' oh i remember that show' feeling. Cos in the original show, kirk had orange hair lol and a flick in it I kinda do this project in between classes here and there @ college, i do have Freehand on my laptop at home, but prefer using it on a Mac, so hopefully updates will be frequent but might not be on a daily basis. So i've decided that the following. - Will finish up drawing the rest of the main cast. McCoy, Sulu, Uhura, Scotty, Chaplin - Attempt Chekov since he is in both games - THEN try the enterprise Once again, as the voice acting for the games was done after ST IV, it seems alittle weird having a older Shatner voice a younger Kirk, so might move the animated time frame to after TMP -which means new uniforms...oh yes... Those uniforms again ( but not 5 different variations to each cast member, i'll work out a go between TMP and TWOK) |

Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | Dr-Timelord, Thank you for working on this project. I would like to provide what assistance I can, such as in helping you to find a way to capture the audio from the game. Assuming this works, it would be nice to see both the ST:25th Anniversary and Judgement Rites games adapted. In addition, there are possible applications based on the old record album adventures, which weren't that bad considering they were intended for kids. > Once again, as the voice acting for the games > was done after ST IV, it seems alittle weird having > a older Shatner voice a younger Kirk, It might be possible to adjust the vocal qualities somewhat, we would have to experiment and see if the results are worth the effort. If that fails, the voice is probably not that different from Shatner's voice in ST:TMP, which "Trek Time" happens only 2-3 years later. > so might move the animated time frame to after > TMP -which means new uniforms...oh yes... Those > uniforms again ( but not 5 different variations to > each cast member, i'll work out a go between TMP > and TWOK) I would have to respectfully disagree with you here. The games depict an adventure with the TOS uniforms, and as such I think they should stay that way. For one thing, this type of uniform has a very short time span, as the pilots provide earlier variations on them using different colors and details, and the movies abolish them all together. While I don't agree with all the dates in the following guide ( http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/ga...r/uniforms.pdf ), they are correct within a year or two. In terms of the canon, we don't know when the uniforms changed to the ST:TMP version. At least one novel indicates that it happened some time before the Enterprise was drydocked for conversion, but the details in that novel make it seem unlikely that the novel "actually" happened. Another novel pushes the ST:TMP uniform into the early 2280s (as best as I can estimate). As such, the standard TOS uniform only lasts about 5 years, which is a shame, especially considering that the ST:II type uniform (great though it is) is supposed to change very little between 2278-2350! So, my recommendation would be to stick to the game's choice of TOS uniforms. It will make your episodes seem to be great continuations of TOS and TAS, keep TOS fans happy (as most of us never liked the ST:TMP uniforms), and keep fans of the original games happy. Let me know in this thread or by PM if I can help in any way. Regards, Whorfin |
