Warning, it's an enormous picture, in terms of both file size and dimensions. ![]() It's a gun*. A big one. The scale is 4pixels/meter. Obviously, it's nowhere near done. Feedback would be nice. *If anyone's interested, I can provide a more detailed explanation of it and its purpose. |

| SFM Nugget | That's pretty cool. It has a very realistic, like this is actually something that we might build kind of look to it. And the level of detail in the pic is cool to. Nice. |

Oh yeah, they've got a big-ass minefield full of Bomb-Pumped X-ray Lasers, so when you do get out there you have two options. A, you try to get close and get blown into your constituent atoms. B, you sit outside their range and glare at them ineffectually. Oh, and they keep chucking these hilariously over-fortified comets at the inner solar system, so you have to do something. Of course, that damned minefield again limits your options. The first thing you can do is just accept the losses it would take you to get through the minefield. Since they can pump out mines faster than you can pump out ships, this doesn't really work. Sure, you've got all the resources of the inner solar-system behind you, so you would eventually win. Eventually. The second thing you could attempt to do is sneak in undetected. Since you can't hide in space (for far too many reasons to list here), you'd just get blown up. Lovely. The third thing you can do is attack them so fast the defenses don't have time to blow you out of the... well, I'm not sure what they'd be blowing you out of, but they would. Anyways, the only way to do this means you have to make a relativistic weapon, so by the time they see it coming the projectile is nearly upon them... Several years of practice tends to do that for ya. A lot of that detail actually has a purpose, too. |
