Aresius, originally I think (and I say think, because it's been so long since I've thought about this ship, let alone worked on it) that it was going to be a carrier of some kind. Aside from the plethora of shuttles and runabouts it could carry, it was also going to carry a sizable flight of my Raptor class fighters...that was long before they became the two variants; the Raptor class tactical runabout and the Longbow fighter.--both of those should be in this thread somewhere.

Update time:

I have two updates. The first is a new single nacelle version/variant of the Spectre class from several posts back. I'm not sure yet which one will become the actual Spectre class, or if maybe they'll both be Spectre's, or maybe the single nacelles version is different enough to be it's own class.
Any thoughts on this that anyone has are welcomed.

The second update is for the new version of the 'unnamed explorer' which really needs a name. Does the saucer remind anyone else of a Cobra's hood? I sort of get that vibe from it, though that was never my intention. So maybe some sort of Cobra related name, though that would give it a bit more aggressive overtone then I would like. I also considered just 'borrowing' the name Pax Magellanic from Andromeda, because it sounds so cool and sort of fits the ship I think.

Not that I'm aware of. It would be cool if someone would take it on, but if not, then it's no biggy. I don't really draw anymore to really 'design' ships like I used to. Now I just do it because I enjoy it and it takes my mind off writing for a little while, so in the end whatever happens with one of them is pretty much fine with me...as long as they aren't stolen outright and claimed by someone else as their own work that is. That just sucks.

At any rate, it's not anywhere close to being done. Even the top view has a fair amount of work left to do.

Well I finally got around to Horton's suggestion of taking on an Ambassador class Upgrade, though I'm still not sure what era to set it in; which is important for establishing what certain details to include, and will determine how much on an upgrade it will end up being.

I've made some changes to the hull, like lowering the nacelles so they are completely visible from the front and extending the neck/deflector further forward. I've done almost an Ent-B/Excelsior style upgrade to the engineering hull. It's not the same hull flaring's of course, but it's the same style of upgrade in that it changes the shape of the hull, rather then just changing the internals of the ship.

i like the Ambassador i would put the era as post-nemesis but i like the start design

Thanks. Post-Nemesis, give or take a few years is probably the era I'll go with since that tends to be my favorite.
