The Valkyrie

I'm starting a new project, similar in scope to my "Fire & Ice" pieces over in the 2D Gallery, this time using a drawn ship instead of a model, and this time she's a bit more of a looker.

Here's a sneak peek at the first draft of the sketch, I have a few more details to iron out before I head into the rendering stage.

Not bad at all! The nacelles strike me as a bit big in comparison to the primary hull, though.

Yeah, I always tend to go towards large nacelles for some reason. I suppose it has to do with trying to make the ship look more powerful. Once I get it into Photoshop I may resize them a bit.

I really like this! Beautiful! I wouldn't mind doing a top and side views in Illustrator sometime.

This looks like something you'd see out of the official star trek art book, very good!

Very nice! Whittle down those nacelles a bit and I think she'd look even sharper than she does now.

A nice start, I'd say.

Okay, I went ahead and shrank the nacelles down a little. Better?
