Daedalus Class

I've been working on this project on and off for a while. It's the most consistent project I have so far. I just wanted to see if I could make the classic design for the Daedalus look good.

The Warp engines are done for the most part. If anything there will be a few tweaks. There's more work to be done on the Engineering hull. I've barely started on the primary hull. There's still a bunch of designing junk floating on the primary hull. Well here goes.

Iuploaded the image as a .png because it looks better. If you need a different file type then just tell me.

EDIT: I changed the file type because I couldn't get the .png to show up on my computer.

This looks very nice so far.

But it (this classic design) cannot compete with Aethernaut's re-design of the Daedalus

True. Aethernaut's design is amazing! Not to mention the skill with which it was drawn. I don't think anything I do could compete with Aethernaut's stuff.

But you know me, I stick to the traditional stuff. None of this remake junk. (exept for my TAS remake)

Aw, shucks, thanks fellas. I need to finish up my bridge iso but I'm suffering from a severe lack of motivation lately.

Looks great so far uniderth! There's nothing wrong with going classic but it's not my cup of tea for the most part. You tend to go a little more subtle with the shading than I do and I think that gives it a really interesting style.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Thanks. Since I posted this first image I' done some more work but not enough for a nwe image yet. I've changed the gradients on the secondary hull to give it a more rounded look. I've added more windows to the primary hull. I've also added the shadow from the warp pylon. I really like the way the color turned out. I usually can't tell what it will look like online because I draw it on my laptop. On my laptop the hull looks alot more blue than it does here. But I'm pleased for the most part.

Lookin' good uniderth...shadows coming off the pylons and engines onto the secondary hull look a bit jaggly, but I'm sure you will fix those. Look forward to seeing the next update
