Sketchbook Dumpster Well, while I'm waiting to order and receive the new PC, not entirely sure what I should be doing with myself during those spare thirty minute evenings.. As someone very good has kindly offered to build the Parallax for me, which I've never been able to perfect I thought I'd go back to the uniforms for her. This is similar to the last uniform concept but I've decided the jacket should move from black to a middle grey, if only because every uniform out there is black at the moment. ![]() Now if only I could learn to draw..

and if I'm going to make it a decent enough thread to view, I may as well add a few other pictures... This is the Adventure Class, cnuningly named for the 'Divergence' RPG, which started at Canon trek just before the 6th movie and then explained to the players essentially how the timeline moved away from canon and into Parallax..lore... There was a design lineage of ships which sort of made the progress to the Parallax style a little more natural!

Evolution Class Cruiser, the next in line after the Adventure. Must get aroud to building her one day... The 'title' screen for the Pilot episode of Divergence. And moving away from the Parallax for a moment, a painting I did many years ago for Star Trek: Horizon

| SFM Oracle | Interesting idea for the uniform, but I suggest that the blue stripe is not broke by the "clip". (got what I mean?) Interesting sketches on the ships. They're nice. The Adventure-class has some sweet reminiscent of TMP and the Evolution-class looks very cool. |

The "Evolution-Class" looks sweet. I'd love to see that one done for Bridge Commander.

Cheers chaps. A, I will get onto trying to make a slightly better pic for the uniform and I'll try the unbroken stip. HG, For -some- of my designs, I would be happy to see other people model them. I haven't designed a new ship on paper (Boudicca doesn't really count on paper!!) for nearly ten years, so the designs are all quite out of date and the drawing isn't very good (not that I've improved in that time!) but yeah, there's opportunity out there for those short of inspiration on what to build. Most of the ship drawings don't look 'quite' right, mainly because I only usually draw half the ship and then mirror the drawing if need be. and maybe I should learn to use a ruler once in a while. ![]() This is from the Horizons Project, The Darwin class is a test bed ship (The nacelles are pretty much the Horizon Nacelles) but before anybody asks, there is no testing of technologies Voyager brought back form the Delta Quadrant!

The other slightly perplexing thing I found is that when PSP rotates my scanned images it changes the aspect ratio!! I think I managed to get most of these back to normal though... This is the Artemis Class USS Unity, which was designed for a friends RPG group. The 'sensor pallette' is actually a 'warp pallette' as the bits on the sides are the warp grilles. Can't remember if I did this or the Parallax first but the Boudicca was third in the dannage desing lineage for receiving bussards on the edges...

I really like the "U.S.S. Unity" dropping out of warp drawing. The nacelles and Defiant-esque body make it look really unique. Have you considered making a colored version of the pic ?

Well, it was made in purple pen, does that count? Any photo-shoppers are welcome to try and colour that picture in, Nick smarvelous once did a digital painting of two of my pictures and made them look fantastic! Otherwise, when I get some free time I will try and make a colour one. to be honest, I'm contemplating giving building it in 3D a go, but not decided yet, I'm still better with nice straight blocky models...
