A lot of Trek-based sketches

Hello. I decided to take a little break from posting 3D stuff and do some sketches. Most of the stuff I do now is for a Star Trek show so the sketches are based on that universe too. Here are some of them :

Top and side views of a Klingon cruiser/scout ship.

Two views of another Klingon cruiser. You can ignore the aft view and the ship in the bottom - the top view is the only "good" version

A military gun. No details on it.

A vertically-oriented ship. I guess it could be a small private vessel.

Two ships of the same race. Preferably atmopheric ships or orbital only.
I have recently made a 3D tanker (check it out here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../tankerB14.jpg) and I was wondering where did I get an idea for that 3-wings configuration ...

Now onto human vessels :

Just a ship, nothing special about this one.

A small short-range scout and weapons transport . The "half-saucer" is a big multi-hangar area and only the narrow middle hull is for crew (it's between the nacelles , seen in the top view)

Two heavy cruisers. Both of them are part of my fictional "SDO" (Solar Defense Organization) forces which provide security to our Solar system and Earth Colonies near near it.

This is my final ship as for today. It's a new ship, both for long-range explorations and enemy encounters.

Comments and critique are both welcome If you have any requests for detailed version for any of the drawings , I will redraw it and repost a new version.

Thanks Atolm and thank you Aresius I have just finished doing the first Klingon ship with greater detail and I started remaking the earth cruiser which is in the last pic. I will be doing them in 3D so if you have any requests, I will gladly take them

Yeah, that's the plan for each and every ship shown here However, I don't know WHEN it will happen. Right now I'm putting final touches to the leading ship of "Star Trek Future" and doing ... 1 station, 1 tanker unit, 1 cargo freighter, all sort of visual effects for Star Wars parody and tons of short physics-heavy animations ... so it looks like I don't have much time on my hands I think that it may not come sooner than after my final school exams ... which will be in about 1.5 months ...

Ok it may not be the Klingon ship but I decided to do the "weapons transport" ship

(this one )

I just started doing it but it's already very late at my place so I have to halt the development for today. I also have 2 drawings ready but will upload them once I wake up . Oh and here's the ship

It may looks similar to XFozzboute's CivilWar ship but that wasn't done on purpouse and the final version of the ship won't probably look similar at all .

If it is a rCritique on the modelling you are after, I'd say soften some of those curves on the bow as they look a bit wobbly... But then as this is a 2D thread, I've really got to focus on the drawings. All look pretty good. I'm not a fan of short nacelles myself, though you clearly are but I think the drawings all look nice.

If I -had- to critique, I'd say I find the klingon design quite complex and difficult to truly visualise the shape due to all the details, so perhaps a more basic diagram, or just a harder pencil for the panel lines? Can I ask is this Klingon ship supposed to be the same as the one in the second picture in the thread? As you appear to have taken a different direction on her.

Thanks for the comment.
Yes, I know about the edges, but the model is so basic, I don't even pay attention to smoothing problems just yet. There will be a lot of chamfering and fitting on the more curvy parts of the ship and it will look much better than it does now.
When it comes to short nacells, I can't say I'm their big fan either I just draw a ship and adjust the parts so that they fit the drawing. I like long nacelles, but because SDO ships are supposed to be fast and powerful ships, I decided to make them short so that they look more aggressive.
Finally, the Klingon Cruiser. The ship I posted is the same ship as in the first image on the thread but as you said, I did go in a little different direction. I made the ship more compact because the first version was too cruiser-esque and that's not what I wanted.
If I have some time in the following days I will do a high-res version and will ask my friend to alter it a bit in the photoshop so that it will be easier to understand the model.
Again, thanks for the comment
