|Babylon 5| Corpressor Class

Okay, AAAAAGES ago I started a ship while a nine hour render was happening, this ship was one that I made for Babylon 5 universe. The ship is designed to be a replacement for the Victory Class ship that we saw in Crusade. Now this is the first time I have designed a B5 ship, so dont expect anything very 'canony' :P

The ship is designed to be slightly bigger than the Victory Class ship, but this is becuase I thinned it out and shappened the edges on it. I understand the the Victory Class was a ship that had a blend of Human, Minbari and Vorlon technology.

So what I decided was to give it:
Human looking weaponry and armour plating
Minbari Organics and grace
Vorlon 'Alive ship' look, hence why the bridge placing is different (The bridge is the 'brain' if you like).

Anyway...

This is my first Idea for the ship along with a size comparison for the two ship types...

Hmm... interesting. Hard to judge much so far, except that the neck detail look a bit Star Trek-ish, since the top of the "head" appears to have a Trek bridge section. (although I'm sure that is coincidental)

I'm interested in seeing more...

Okay I have updated the ship. I have changed a few things.

Ill quote what I posted in another place.

Quote:
The cannons on the ''top'' neck tunnel were awfuly placed, why? Because these turrets are meant to tuck in, the issues with this are that the top tunnel is high or wide enough, plus the added fact if they did, we would have traffic issues. (The top tunnel is for the shuttles that run the length of the ship).

I replaced the turrets as well, becuase lets face it they were hardly nice quality.
The cannons inside the 'mouth' have been replaced, to better detailed and serious looking ones :P
There are more various bits I have done to it...
Thats the updates for the ship.

Added some tiny details along the neck. The details are meant to be various regulators and littl do dads for the cables contained inside. They are easily accessible becuase they contain things like fuses and coolant monitors for the turrets.

I am in the proccess of changing the panelling under the 'chin' of the ship, so that it has better lines. The panelling there before was crappy. There are also details along the top neck part.

I decided to add something a little different. The plates on the ship werent working so I decided to make them into bioplates. The only difference is they look more organically shaped.

IMO, the plates looked better before.

I have to agree - they look too weak and un-planned now. I suggest keeping the previous scheme, and possibly adding over the top a layer of organic-like mottling.

Other than that, I really like this design - it's certainly an improvement over the one from Crusade!

Suicide bombers... what makes them tick?

I like the style of the new plates but the older one's suite the ship better

Great work
