Wacom Nebula WIP

Right, so, I just got one of the lower-end Wacom tablets (one of the Bamboo kind, to be exact) -- and I've been toying with it today. So I decided to do a nebula spacescape.

Everyone's probably seen my previous attempts at nebulae, and in my opinion -- this is my best one so far!

Here's today's work. Comments, please?

Cheers,
Nick

looks pretty good! Did you go off this tutorial?

I have a bamboo as well, its kind of odd to use it at first but its nice when you get used to it. i just wish it was bluetooth so i could hold it like a regular drawing pad.

Looks good to me You should now add a planet or something to make the scene complete

Fitter, Happier And More Productive ...

Yes, I started out with that tut, and then started looking at some hubble photos of nebulae, and just kind of took off from there. The bamboo is really helping my technique alot, but I agree, it is a little... goofy sometimes.

Yeah, I'm planning on adding a big, red planet (maybe with rings) in the foreground -- and maybe a few planets in the nebula itself. All that will come after (well, after I find a good planet / rings tutorial ) I've enhanced the starfield and nebula some more with a few more "starburst-type" stars, and one major light source within the nebula itself. Afterwards, I think I'll try my hand at putting maybe a ship or something in there.... we'll see how far that goes, though.

I'm *hopefully* on track to making some headerable work here, as my previous works have been... well, I'll say less than standard. Now that I've got my Wacom tablet, though, I should be able to make more and more striking pics.

Again, thanks for the comments, everyone, I really appreciate them --

Cheers,
Nick

Here's tonight's update -- added a test planet within the nebula and tried a new method for starbursts. I think I'll work some more on the objects in the nebula, and then the main source. I'm also thinking about what to do about the foreground planet. Anyone know any good tutorials for hi-res planets and/or rings?

Also, I'm thinking about making a debris field of remnants of a destroyed spaceship, and a man in a spacesuit that's left floating free in the aftermath. Any pointers in areas that might help me out on these bits would be appreciated.

As far as current progress, any comments would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Nick

Cool work but can anyone else see a space monster of some kind in the clouds shape? Two eyes at the top, teeth underneath swallowing a planet as it goes! But seriously, some amazing work and very beautiful. Wish I could do so well in art packages

Thanks alot, Quiarcus!
Here's some updates!!!

[EDIT] - I seem to be having problems losing quality either as I upload, or as I compress to JPEG format. Any pointers?

Cheers,
Nick
