| The New Skin
Ok. I've gone ahead and turned ON the new skin for scifi-meshes.com. It's alittle dark (lighter version soon), but I've decided to tone down the site. The previous style, while cool looking, was a layout challenge. Every time I had to add something, I has to write a new template just for that area.
In the interest of speed vs. design.. I've elected for this skin. It's NOT about what art is used to make SFM, it's about YOUR ARTWORK on SFM. I want the visitors to see YOUR WORK, with SFM around it. Not the site. Which should be a secondary consideration.
I realize some of you may hate this design, but promise it was developed with several things being considered. Speed of the site. Minimizing template modifications (that's not referring to hacks). And allowing for other areas of the site (still coming soon) to display properly. Under the old style it would have been a nightmare.
Like it.. love it.. it's SFM. The gallery still needs to be fixed. The downloads area opens tonight (can't mod things at work). The homepage should be online within a few days.
