| Get Smart - June 2008
I just saw the trailers for Get Smart. While they were pretty funny, (and if anyone can play Maxwell Smart, its Steve Carell) im worried its just going to be a slapstick comedy instead of a proper remake. A lot of the humor of the show came from parodying the James Bond series, by taking the "secret" spy agencies to an extremely obvious, and pun-intensive level.
While a lot of the humor of the original was slapstick, there was a certain appeal in Don Adams (RIP) characterization of the well-meaning, moderately intelligent eternal klutz of Maxwell Smart.
