| You have to remember the scale here, these engines are huge, over a couple thousand feet long. They would have massive structural bracing just to absorb the thrust from the engines, which would far surpass the recoil from the guns. Also, the later turrets on Pegasus, and by extension on Prometheus, don't seem to have the prominent cockpit that the ones on Galactica have, so they may be unmanned. |
