There are all these little pod things floating around the ship being built. When you think about it, it makes sense that the Asgard would use drones to do all there work being little frail things. Stargate Worlds the up coming MMORPG will have the Asgard as a playable race, and they will have drones(somewhat of a cross between a pet, and your actual character) that carry out all the actions.
Since Raynor gave me the go-ahead for spoilerage, the story is that the Asgard left some of their consciousnesses in a computer network on a hidden station called Valhalla as well as a few of their ships so that in future times they could combat a new evil (think Ragnarök). An idea I pitched to Raynor after reading up on Valhalla was to have Valkyries(keepers of the honored dead) as drone ships protecting the station.
Hope that clears it up, but considering the way I think, probably not.
