Yeah, I know that they try to save every cent they can but it doesn't make me feel better when I hear about something and then not see it
I also think that it might have been because of Berman&Braga being in the lead - it was them who decided to use a DS9 (or Voyager) model of Klingon ship just because the one which CG artists did din't had enough windows ... Anyway, the problem of small shots didn't seem to be as big in the later seasons, especially the final episodes. If Enterprise wasn't cancelled before its time it would probably still be around 2008 and that way it would have even better CGI scenes ...
