| Hmm, that shouldn't happen, only if you're working with opacity maps that aren't aligned properly. Since you're working with composite material I'll presume you have a layer for the base colour and another for the markings? Double check the opacity maps, black is transparent, white is opaque.
There are two ways to set this up. The base layer is your base colour and weathering and the one on top is your lettering. One way to set this one up is with jpg's or bmp's, then you need a white background with coloured lettering for the diffuse slot and an inverted one in the opacity slot. Or instead of working with jpg's (which are hell on max's memory handling anyway) you can use png's, in Photoshop, just make a png with a transparent backgrouund and just your black lettering and use that as top layer. Max will keep the alpha channel of that png intact and automatically you'll have a fully transparent layer with only the lettering showing.
If you really can't figure out what's going on, you can always PM me to arrange to get your material to me so I can take a closer look at it. |
