Aha! Fixed it! Apparently, for some reason or other, the shadow settings for my main light got changed to 'shadow map' which was messing it all up. I put it back on vray Shadow, et voilą!
Good call on the antennae, I definately need to beef up the sensor cluster at the bow and perhaps make the radomes a lot bigger on the bridge and keel.
