My God Bones, What Have I Done?

Howdy folks, I haven't posted for a couple of weeks as I had to meet a client in New York. I found the best thing to keep me occupied on the plane was to do a bit of 3D! I decide to attempted to recreate some scenes from the Star Trek movies (don't ask me why!), here is my first stab at a shot from ST 3.
It was made using C4D with an un-textured low-poly model I had made some years back. I used C4D's Bodypaint to create the textures, and Pyrocluster.

Hope you all enjoy, c & c are, as always, welcome.

Hal will return with his image ' My God, Thats A Big Ship '

p.s. the image on the right is taken from the film! (if you couldn't of guessed)

not bad, overall its a nice recreation of the effect, you've really overdone the leading edge glow though.

it looks very good, but the impulse engine seems half-transparent

I love damaged/wrecked ship shots, and I have to say, this is one of the best ones I've seen, despite the little errors pointed out already. Great work!

Wonder if anyone ever did a 'what if' story with the Ent wreakage...

If the Genesis planet was in a state of flux, gravity n all, a cool 'what if' story would be 'what if the ship wreakage sailed through the atmosphere but ended up bk in space somewhere..'
