Rocky Shoal - The endless animation

Hello there!
Here's the associated animation to my image Golden Shoal

It's not quite an animation but rather an animated still but it's loop-able, hence the 'endless' in the title

Big version (1300x500, 18MB): link
Small version (780x300, 6,7MB): no small version anymore, sorry. get the big one instead, it'll pay off
Enjoy!

edit: forgot the credits. Base ofc by Carl 'Ozylot' Fredsberg

Regards Roman

nice, the lighting is great but the clouds are moving way to fast, would also look nice if there was some movement in the asteroids (spinning etc)! good job!

I wish there was a way to put THAT on my desktop

But yeah, it would be neat to see some rocks moving, and some ships and some other movements too. Although considering that you only used so few frames, its really impressive!

You're right with that. slower movement would have required a longer animation though.

Yeah. That would be cool. Actually i rendered only 5 frames and some other layers like background rocks and clouds. Moving asteroids would require to render every single frame impossible on this machine...

Also it would be very hard to make it still loop-able then.

Thank you all!

What if you rendered a loop animation of a rock spinning. and then composite the rock into the scene. Its an idea, but it would probably be time consuming.

There is a way! I had do that some time ago. Its simpel. You open a website creator program like dreamweaver or so and place the quick time movie in it and save the site as htm. Now go to your desktop settings (where you choose your background image) and open the htm. Now you have a film at your background.

Fantasy is more important than knowledge, because knowledge is limited.

Interresting & maybe even inspiring movie. Having some of the rocks move would improve it in my opinion. I also think the station should be rotating a little. V.slow. slow for the rocks too.

If you ever get a better comp. You could try that.

umm... def inspirational.
