ToD - Coreign Approach

Hi! Here's an image taken from one of the shots I've animated for the film Star Wars: Threads of Destiny

There's the Star Stream, one of the starring ships, arriving at planet Coreign. Hope you like it

The fact that the same ship is blured at the back and crystal sharp at the front is a little disconcerting.

Also the fact that is so obviously earths moon is a bit jaring too.

Other than that, nice image.

you know with true motion blur that's actually possible

although I do think there's something wrong with the blur on the ship this time

I pity the fool!

Well, about the motion blur, it's the one I use for animations, although it seems not very appropriate for still images. It works well when you see the film, though. And this is a big render of one of the frames, after all... If I used the appropriate blur effect, the render would have taken several hours instead of 16 min, and I didn't have that time.

About the planet being the Earth... Man, it's the one that can be downloaded from this site, made by Aszazeroth! LOL, of course it's an Earth-like planet, but not the Earth itself
This is the link

The moon texture is based mostly in our own Moon, that's right. But that planet has 3 moons of different sizes, basically the same texture in different orientations, which makes them look similar and different at the same time. That is kind of nice for me.

Thanks for the comments!

Oh, sorry, that's true, lol

Well, the film has new webpage, and it's this:
http://www.myspace.com/threads_of_destiny

There you will find the trailers and webdocs, and they will be released in YouTube, too. There's an SFX webdoc and a new trailer coming soon. Stay tuned!

Wow I completely missed this, I guess that's what happens when you get lazy and stop browsing the forum every few hours

It looks good man, the motion blur doesn't quite work right for this image as the others said, but I'm sure it'll look fine in the film

As for the website; Rasmus (the Director) told me they're hoping to have a new "official" website up soon but they need to get someone who can maintain and update the site.

"Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, really, ridiculously good looking?"
