Cinema4d BSC Daedalus

Hey guys!

I'm currently working on the X-304 Daedalus from Stargate.
This is a pic I made for the stargate fan award on stargate-project.de

Now I am quite unhappy with my lighting an the mats.
The lighting doesn't look like rainmaker's at all..

For the light I am using 2 light arrays, each 9 lights @ 5% with soft shadows.
+ an infinite/unlimited (don't know how it's called in english) light @ 100% with hard shadow.

I'm glad and thankful for any idea to make it look more realistic!

I'm using C4D R10 - one question, is it possble, that "bump" works much better in lightwave than in cinema?
Cause whatever I try, I never get a that clean an sharp looking bump like the lighwave made mat from rainmaker.

Hope you know what I mean.

here it is...

WOW!!!! awesome render there.....

the only unhappy comments i can make is that the image on screen is massive, would you be able to render the scene into a smaller sized image?

Also, quite a personal bugbear of mine, while they have never come out on the show and called it any thing other than '304' early on in it's appearance the Daedalus' crew are seen to have the insignia DSC-304 on their uniforms.

Anyway neither of the above takes anything away forjm an amazing render.

Hope to see more if possible... please?

Thanks for the kind words

@Dr Lee,
I'll render a smaller version as soon as possible!
And yes you are right about the name. This is because when I started modeling the ship I called the project folder X-304 cause I allready had an F-302 (which i will show soon) and X-303 folder and now I allways call the ship X-304

I have allready rendered a second shot, but at the moment I am not at home so have no access to the image. I'll post when i'm back.

The ship has about 900.000 polys (I think). I'll check it at home.

Danke Felix, dir auch

looks good, but your all or most of your panels should be modeled and not a texture.
