AWARE Portable Generator

AWARE Standard Portable Generator/Turbine

A portable power source that can be carried by four men or loaded onto almost any ground vehicle. It's primary purpose is power generation - supplying up to 8 kW of power through 8 Standard Power Sockets to field devices such as sensors, defenses and C&C equipment. Turbine output filtering stack utilizes gas liquifiers and water vapor condensers which, when activated on the command console or via a control link, will provide cryogenic air and distilled water output through two Standard Liquid Sockets. The turbine can be controlled using a console in the front section or by up to 4 command links.

When the thrust suppressor is deactivated, the electric power output drops while the exhaust speed increases greatly - making the Portable Turbine a somewhat weaker but efficient propulsion device that can be mounted on a Standard Turbine Manifold and provide basic propulsion to light aircraft, such as rogue Prophylactic Defense's Patrol Balloons and various light makeshift craft.

Fuel used is the standard hydrogen slush used by almost every AWARE device. It's being fed to the turbine either from an external tank using a Standard Liquid Socket or from an AWARE Standard Power Pack, which can provide enough hydrogen for just about 30 minutes of peak performance.

The turbine itself is an unmodified AWARE 10 kW turbine that can be removed from the casing and installed into a permanent position in any compatible vehicle or structure.

... well txtured - congrats
Just curious - wich device increase pressure of the incoming air and why diameter changes so fast in the end ?

Thanks there's a counter-rotating axial compressor in the front section and the diameter increases to accomodate the expanding turbine blades.

Very cool design, dude, and well executed. (I somehow even like the credits/signature on your images. )

Thanks, toXic. You mean the writing in the lower right corner (like this) ? That's a font created for this universe, you might actually see it on a model soon, as I seem to be catching a second modelling wind

This is well thought out and nicely done! The only nitpitck I have is that if it's going to be carried by 4 men, then it needs a few hand-holds on the sides. Also, some lifting rings on top would be nice : )

Actually, the generator has handles on the sides (see render), they're just folded to save space. As for lifting rings, they were removed in early stages of the development... for some reason :)

Looks nice.

If you want a crit, perhaps you could put a bevel on the edges that are at ninety degrees or less. The inner edge of the square air intake for example. For some odd reason very sharp edges look "unreal" to human eyes.

I believe that Blender has a bevel tool and a bevel script.
