This would be rather stupid ( I REALLY HATE THE PEGASUS FOR IT AND STATING IT) because it would interfere with the fire angles (Lines of fire) of your batteries cannon! In sort I like your "slant" ( think your original design is better though) on this Battlestar (never really a fan of this design) but in reality (series based reality that is) all a Basestar has to do is come up from it's aft quarter and thats all for the Battlestar! The Cylons have proven they can "HACK" missiles, when there ready for an a attack so missile batteries wont help with the problem! I would respectfully suggest reducing the top & Keel side engines to allow for better angles of fire! And think it might add to over all look of the battlestar! Just my option, take it for what it's worth! |

I also find she has pritty good aft couverage, the designer of this ship seems to have put some thought into the design. Untitled-1.jpg Actually looking back the only ship I built that dosn't have an aft battery is ... Cerberus.... ![]() |

They seem much more sluggish than the new models, and there could also be the expectation that fighters would help in that regard as well. I put eight turrets aft on the wing engines just to address the rear defenses. A slight pivot to one side or the other would bring the flank flight pod turrets into arc, and a pitch up or down would clear the dorsal and ventral mounts. I doubt a Basestar could change position to keep in a blind spot faster than the Battlestar could change attitude with its RCS system. |

Downloads: 3 Uploads: 0 | on the subject of weapons placement: when I came up with the lego concept model for the intruder class, one of the first questions I asked myself is what about aft coverage, so, I put weapons dorsally and ventrally on the structural spine, right between the massive drive pods, which themselves have weapons systems emplacements. canis and wolff did one hell of a job bringing her to life. ____________________________ on the prometheus: you've most definitely done a great job infinity238. |

Easy enough to fix with edge chamfering or using the connect option and manually moving things around and it would definitely improve the model |

Just the firing stress alone ( even ELECTRO, MAGNETIC, DISCHARGE has stress) would cause damage to the framing of the engine! I love your work Infinity, but how would a Gunner get to the gun, through engine? I think not, for the simple reason that it's a chemical drive engine, as shown on BSG! |

They would have massive structural bracing just to absorb the thrust from the engines, which would far surpass the recoil from the guns. Also, the later turrets on Pegasus, and by extension on Prometheus, don't seem to have the prominent cockpit that the ones on Galactica have, so they may be unmanned. |
