Beast x Mech

Hi,

I have been messing with those 2 models for a while and decided to put then together into this battle scene.
At one side I have the Mustang Transformer model i posted here last year when it was still a WIP, and at the other my dinossaur T-Rex beast model.
The T-rex was an exercise of organic modelling without zbrush, and also an extrapolation of the usual look of the t-rex based on the comodo dragon

skin into something more beastial, combining pieces of snake skin, alligator and some other elements i collected all around the internet,

including this own forum

Scene uses 3ds max 9, vray, photoshop and zbrush at the ground basis bellow the robot.

Galleries showing the development of both models and the scene can be found at:
Picasa Web Albums - LC Amaral

A full resolution version of this pic can be found at the battle scene section of the same link.

C&C are highly encouraged

Thanks.

haha! that is pretty funny. At first I thought the dinosaur was standing on its tail.

Great image!

My biggest pet-peeve is people saying they have a pet-peeve.

Estava demorando para vocę postar algo novo!.
Welcome back friend. Thatīs a nice image!
You captured very well the life and dead, and did an execlent modelling job, but I believe that you can improve the rendering a little more. Here it goes my feedback:
- The dinossaur skin looks a bit plastic, appears that she has to much specularity (did I said it right?)
- The shadows appears to be missing
- I canīt see depressions where the robotīs feet touches the floor
- After this combat, I expect some dust to the robot armour
Anyway, looks great! Far better than anything that I could do.

1-Absolutelly no!!! It wonīt be done... You wonīt see a ridiculous pokemon as a crew of my ships. And donīt ask me about technobable too, please!
2- Science Fiction itīs only FICTION. Donīt argue as it is a real thing. It isnīt!

The transformer looks great, the top left quarter of the image is fantastic but there are problems with the rest. The way that you've used DOF on the background makes it look as if the characters are taller than the mountains. Maybe try it without the blurring at all, or make the actual backdrop blurred completely. it's also hard to distinguish where the background ends and the outcrop begins.

great image !!!

i have a few observations you wont like...
the weight feeling is missing.
the robot doesnt grip the dinosaur with all the strength he has. the fingers dont squeeze the beast hard enough to lift him over the ground.
in that posture, holding taht monster, the bot would fall. the mass center is not over the feets. it should lean back a little.

Do you believe in Love?
