Nice scene but it seems that it's missing something You should definately add some stars to the background and get a new texture for the moon because this one is too "smooth".

Fitter, Happier And More Productive ...

the planets look very flat, you'll need to adjust the lighting on those for a start

I pity the fool!

It looks like you went for a "more realistic" single light source, which unfortunately is not the best thing to use in a stand alone sci-fi image. Even dark images use a series of lights to draw the eye to certain features of the render and to add atmosphere, and at the moment your scene looks too flat. Try adding some more range-limited lights to highlight parts of the scene and make it more interesting

great idea. as the others already said, it needs stars and different light. what about to set the foreground galactica closer to the point of view? and a bit mb.

Maybe it's that fact that my monitor is freakishly bright, but I do see stars in that image..

..other than that, I'll have to agree, needs to be brighter.. based on the appearance of the stars it almost looks like the entire image was darkened in photoshop after the render was complete.
