Great job, deg. Is it done? Are you planning on doing anything else with the deflector?

Thanks very much guys.

Yes, CX she is done. The bussards domes efx may be played with some more, but the deflector dish is finished, staying within my strict goal of keeping her profile 100% intact. And as such, I am quite happy with it. Just curious, what was it you were expecting to see done?

I was thinking it'd be that rusty orange color with some blue glow behind it coming from inside the concentric rings behind the dish.

Na, not a big fan of the orange color, never was. And with the lights added to the sides and back of the nacelles I felt I had reached the overall limit to tastefully using that effect, so I stuck with the more traditional feel for the dish.

I guess that will be one of my few disappointments with it then.

Well my friend, you'll be happy to hear that, in the process of completely redoing the bussard efx, the dish has indeed gained some backlighting. It does look nice (and better) and I feel is actually a very good .5 progressional lead-up to the full-on glowing TMP dish.

However, the copper/orange color is not going to show up. Either is any orange-ish or red-ish colored bussard efx. The red is o-u-t, out.

In true Trek exploration fashion, I am going where no Trek model, non-canon or canon have ever gone before. And I suspect as always, some will love it, some will like it, some won't care, and some will hate it. It wouldn't be Trek art any other way eh.

But know, the backlit dish is in there dude.
