Sudden Attack (BSG)

A Cylon Basestar jumps in at the tail end of the fleet, spreading chaos throughout the civilian population.

Made using Anim8or and Photoshop. Thanks to Starforce 2(who's called Coxxon here, I gather) for his great meshes and to Robert for the photorealism tutorial.

Didn't really have anything in mind when I started opening the meshes. This just sorta happened.

Made a second image from the perspective of the Cylon Basestar. Added a bit too much grain, but I think some of the effects look pretty good.

That second image is excellent. Awesome perspective.

Thanks, I tried my best to emphasis the scale of the Basestar looming over the fleet. Had trouble creating smoke trails for the missiles though.

They turned out quite well though. How did you do them?

I ended up doing all the effects in Photoshop. I use Anim8or to setup and render scenes, and it's virtually impossible to create any good effects using that.

Sudden Attack

Pearse, the following is what I'd have done on the Titus Class Gunstar, (the older ship with the twin engine pods and underslung landing/launch pod.)

The commander of the CGS Ragnarock suddenly hears his Dradis Operator call out, " Dradis Contact, Large one, It's a Basestar, sir "

Immediatley, picks up the Commic and anounces and issues Orders, " Ragnarock to the Fleet, Set Condition One, Attack Imminent, set FTL Drives for jump as soon as Galactica sends coodinates, Launch fighters, Crews to their Guns, Marines to their point defense stations, and Rapid Response Teams prepare to repel boarders at all critical area of the ship, BATTLESTATIONS, THIS IS NOT A DRILL "

what do you think?

How about "xo set condition ONE" then, "yes sir" (picks up phone thingy) "Set condition one through out the ship!"
And "Condition ONE" would stand for all that other stuff you said. so the comander doesn't need a drink of water just so he can get all the orders out.
Just my 2 cents.
