Need help with MAX 7

I have been learning alot about this type of field. I have 3ds max 7. I can place the mesh on the screen, turn it, zoom, use the lights, and etc., but I have a problem.....I do not know how to place a background picture. Such as a NASA picture of some nebula for intstance. I can place the model and render it but I don't know how to place the model and a background picture together for rendering. HELP Thanks

Well, you can do it a couple ways.

-You could add the picture to a plane (or inverted sphere)
OR
-Go to Rendering>Environment>click on the Environment Map button (that says "none" by default)>choose bitmap>choose the photo you want used. It will then render it as a background.

This is how you do it in Max 8 + 9, and I am assuming its the same in 7.
