| The program you have at your disposal is an enigma to me for the most part ... but I checked some info about the program on the net, and came to the conclusion that the only thing 3d Sci-fi Movie Maker does is enable you to use preexisting 3d models of ships and various other aspect for animation. If you desire to model a 3d object, you need a program that is able to do that. And there is a large variety to chose from. Blender I think is completely free as is Wings 3d. You can easily download either of them online and search up various tutorials on their respective sites (or by Google-ing). Hope that helps. |

| If you are willing to spend a "little" money, look into DAZ's (formerly Eovia's) Carrarra series. no where near as expensive as 3DSMAX or LIGHTWAVE, it is fairly easy to learn and powerful. It has a fairly intuitive interface, and a pretty good animation system. just hop over to: http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/software/carrara/ |

| Is Baaaaack... | Blender and Wings are both free and plenty powerful, especially for the initial learning phase. There's a tutorial series here on SFM called Blender for the Faint of Heart. |

| This time you see | Yup, Craig Robinson (Sphynx) spent a lot of time on those tutorials, and they're as well written and presented as any I've seen from the software producers themselves. You'd certainly not do any harm by downloading Blender from blender.org - Home and looking through Craig's tutorials. |
